First off, thanks to everyone today for the birthday wishes......texts, emails, and Facebook greetings! Yes, today was my birthday. I especially enjoyed getting an email from Jack W., my Air Force buddy from Baltimore, with a nice birthday greeting. We enjoyed being with Jack and his wife Michelle this Summer when we stopped and spent time in the Fells Point area of downtown Baltimore.

Tonight we are back on the boat (B.O.B.) and back on the water (B.O.W.) at Green Turtle Bay in Kentucky. Departure this morning was a little after 7, and we arrived at the boat about 1:45. Not a bad drive, really, after getting through Birmingham. It took us about 45 minutes to unload the car and schlepp all the cargo down the dock to the boat. Everything was as we left it on "Blue Moon", thankfully.

Later this afternoon we drove over to the marina office to settle up with them. When we got on the dock, we saw many other loopers whom we had been with this Summer and had lost touch with. It was great to see them all again, and we look forward to cruising up the Tennessee River together.

After clearing out at the marina, we drove about 12 miles to Eddyville, KY and bought provisions at Food Giant. It was dark when we got back to the boat and it was really dark on the dock where we are moored. The iPhone flashlight app worked well to help us see to bring the supplies down the dock and back to the boat.

We ate dinner aboard. Another microwave miracle and an Italian Ice for Dessert! Yum, Yum. Can't really complain, though. Amanda and Ben cooked a great "birthday meal" last weekend in Daphne complete with a home made chocolate pie. Now that was delicious!

It is very cool here tonight and will get into the 40's. It is long pants and jacket weather, and yes, it really feels like Fall. I hope the trees will be showing some color this week as we head South on the Tennessee River. We have about six days ahead of us to get to Joe Wheeler State Park Marina in Alabama for the Fall Looper Rendezvous.

Tomorrow we will take the rental car back to Paducah, KY and turn it in. It is an Enterprise rental and they will bring us back to the resort. We will then get a pump out and start South, hopefully by 11:00 in the morning. We will try to go about 40 miles to Paris Landing State Park in Tennessee.

We are both excited to get going again. Keep following us on the Blog, and once again, thanks for reading!
