Tonight we are in the great state of Tennessee at Paris Landing State Park Marina, and we have passed the four thousand mile mark on our Great Loop Trip!
We are just over the Tennessee - Kentucky Line at Paris Landing State Park

Our cruise today was 44 miles from Green Turtle Bay. We left early from the marina and drove into Paducah to turn the rental car in. The driver had us back at the boat just after 9:30.

I checked the service work that had been done by GTB. The guy forgot to remove a funnel from the oil fill on the engine and replace the oil filler cap. I "finished his job" for him, started the generator on which he replaced the impeller, and satisfied myself that it is working better than it was. I guess it will be OK.

We cranked up and moved to the marina office where we got a pump out and paid for the service and electricity that "Blue Moon" used while we were away. Good to go and we got away from GTB just before 11:00.

It was a quick trip to Kentucky Lake through the Barkley Canal, then we headed South. It is great to be back on the Lakes! The wind was brisk and from our stern, and it was a gorgeous day. A little cool at first, but after lunch, the sun warmed up the fly bridge very nicely. I even changed out of my jeans into shorts! Very nice.

Fall has definitely come to this part of the country. Two and a half weeks has brought very cool weather and the sky has totally changed. It is a high sky with wispy clouds. The sun angle has gotten noticeably lower, and as this angle continues to decline, we will get the sun in our eyes more and more of the day. We will also see the warming effects of the sun begin to decline. The wind has picked up and is from the North. The smells outside tonight are wonderful. Someone is having a fire. I can smell the smoke. It is clear and crisp! We are loving this weather.

Paris Landing is a beautiful marina. It looks fairly new. The docks are in great shape and there is plenty of room. There are only three or four transient boats here tonight.

That's about it for today. Tomorrow we will try to go another 50 miles to a place called Cuba Landing.
