We had thunderstorms move through Annapolis this morning. Susan did Laundry here at the marina. We headed out to town about 1:15 to eat a late lunch and walk through the stores.

Lunch was at Chick and Ruth's Deli on Main Street. What a place! I had seen this featured last month on The Travel Channel's "Man vs. Food" show. The menu is awesome, and the food exceeded my expectations! We had sandwiches that were delicious!

After lunch walked up the Main Street hill to Church Circle. Around the corner then to the Annapolis Visitor's Center where we boarded a Trolley Tour of town. This was a very good tour with visits to all parts of the town. We got into several very old residential areas where houses were right on the narrow streets. Very cool! Much different than Charleston and even Portsmouth. Most of these neighborhoods were here during Washington's time and Thomas Jefferson's time. Some residences here in Annapolis even influenced Jefferson's design philosophies.

We drove through a neighborhood around St. Mary's Catholic Church and school that is also very old. We saw an historic house that Fox News' Greta Van Sustren has just bought in the neighborhood.

The tour ended about 4:15, and we walked back down Main Street, wandering in and out of stores. We had a tremendous thunderstorm and downpour come through about 4:30. Water cascaded down the hill on Main Street as we sought shelter in an art shop. When the storm passed, we hurried back to the Marina and the boat.

Weather in the region up here for the last week has been horrible. With the tropical storm passing last Thursday and Friday, and the intense thunderstorms this week, weather has given us a wild ride and a whole lot of rain.

We stay here in Annapolis again Tomorrow. I need to go to a West Marine to get some fasteners. This will probably be a bike ride. We want to go back into town to walk through some more of the historical districts. Saturday we head up to Baltimore.

Thanks for Reading!
