It is finally warm up here! Much warmer than when we left. Hope it stays that way. We are running the AC wide open, and it is comfortable in the cabin. It has been a beautiful day!

We are still worn out from yesterday's marathon drive. Early to bed tonight!

Last night we ate at a local tavern called Gosport. It is on the main street here in downtown Portsmouth, just a little farther out than where we walked in May. It was good. They had a unique way of doing clam chowder and it tasted great. Wish I had gotten the bowl instead of the cup!

The band party last night lasted past 11. Didn't bother me. I enjoyed going to sleep to "Ride Sally Ride" and Johnny Cash. This band had a mean harmonica player!

We spent this afternoon provisioning at a Harris Teeter Grocery store west of downtown Portsmouth. We used the rental car to get out there to shop. We were glad we did not have to bike out there with our baskets and back backs. We never would have made it. We love the Harris Teeter chain. It looks like a mid-Atlantic chain and it is a lot like Publix. Susan managed to stow most everything that we bought in the cabin. We have a few more things like water and kitty litter to stow in our tubs in the engine room. (Glad to report that our lights are working down there) Hopefully our staples are taken care of for a while.

The USS New York is still docked across from us undergoing repairs. I noticed that the big enclosure on the flight deck has been removed. The USS Iwo Jima is still in dry dock next to the New York. A new ship has appeared in the yard across from us. I need to check this one and report on who she might be.

Tomorrow we turn the car back in. Tuesday we head to Deltaville, although it looks to be a very windy day with high waves.

Thanks for Reading!
