Not much to report from Southport today. It was a clear day where the temps struggled to make it to the mid 50's, but the wind blew hard from the NE all day with gusts to 30 mph where we were and gale force winds off shore. Our boat bounced around a little, but nothing serious. It was too cool to work outside on the boat or to go into downtown, so we stayed bundled up inside. The Cape Fear River runs by the marina, and there are big rolling breakers in the river with the wind as high as it is. Not a place to be in this kind of weather!

John and his wife Katie on "Lightfoot" arrived last night and he came by this morning and we had a nice visit. They are from Fernandina Beach, and are doing the Loop. We were introduced to John by our boat man, Rodger, in JAX, and we have been trying to link up since we left.

We went to dinner tonight at a local place called The Provision Co. We were with 8 other Loopers including Jeff and Grace on "SeaGlide" from Asheville, NC, Craig and Barbara from Cincinnati on "Blue Herron", John and Katie, and Betsy and Rick on "Rick and Roll" from Topsail Beach, NC, whom we met last year at the Looper Fall Rendezvous in Alabama. Jeff and Grace have just started the Loop and arrived at our Marina today. We had a great time visiting and getting to know everyone. Meeting folks and socializing at the marinas is one of the best things about doing this trip. It is really a lot of fun!

There are more high winds forecast for tomorrow, and into Tuesday. All the Loopers are staying put tomorrow and most will try to leave Tuesday. We hope we can leave then also. I will know more on the electrical problem tomorrow and if the part comes in, they should be able to get us back up and running tomorrow.

Thanks for Reading!
