We are still at Harrisville, MI, tonight, having spent a second weather day here waiting out a front that today brought sunshine and cool temps, but also more wind and waves to this part of Michigan.
Still in Harrisville! |
This is still jacket and long pants weather. We ran the heaters again this morning and have enjoyed the cool breezes flowing through the boat with our windows open. No A/C for a second day!
We woke this morning to the news of the UPS plane crash at the Birmingham Airport. Thankfully, we have AT&T 3G service in this area, and we got all the details. It was sad to view the pictures and vids that were posted. I feel bad for the pilot's families. I know the area where the plane went down well. I can't believe they were trying to land on the shorter N-S runway. Must have been having problems of some sort.
We went back to the Flour Garden for lunch. It was good as we expected. We rode bikes this time, and after lunch, we stopped by the IGA store and bought heavier groceries like water, cokes, and some wine. We actually made two trips on the bikes to get two 24 bottle packs of water back to the boat. The store had most of the basic provisions that we use. We were not impressed by the deli and did not buy any deli- meats for sandwiches.
Today I spent a good bit of time printing Blogs for my Uncle Ted in New Jersey. We printed out copies of the Blog for him from Portsmouth, VA through Kingston, NY so he could read about our trip. He loved the material and has been passing it around to his friends. I am going to send him this last month's supply of Blogs at our next stop with a Post Office.
Dinner tonight was back at the Inn where we ate last night. We both had something different and it was good. We took some pictures looking out on the Lake and the beautiful evening that it turned out to be. Lake Huron has some of the bluest water we have seen. Just amazing!

Looks and feels like Fall tonight |
Tomorrow we are headed North for Presque Isle, which is about 50 miles enroute. We want to refuel and pump out in the morning and get gone by 7:30. We will try to get to Mackinaw City in 3 cruising days, which will put us there on Saturday.
Thanks for Reading!
