Our location on Sunday:

We left Sunbury at 7:30 AM on an outgoing tide. We followed our GPS track from the day before to get out of the Medway River and back to the ICW. The weather was beautiful. So calm and clear. The only negative on the departure was the presence of bugs in Sunbury. They were aggravating at best.
Leaving Sunbury on Sunday Morning
A Beautiful Morning as We Head Out to Savannah

We went through the 1/2 mile "Hell's Gate" channel at Ossabaw Sound. The channel is narrow and shallow. We made it through OK and then turned into the Burnside River that leads to Savannah. Soon we started to encounter no wake zones where we saw marine police out in enforcement. These zones were extensive, and our progress was slowed to under 4 mph at times. These no wake zones were really unexpected.
This Guy was Late for the Show

We arrived at Thunderbolt about 1:20 and refueled and got our holding tank pumped out. We got assigned a face dock on the inner harbor which serves the marine yard that is the reason for Thunderbolt to exist. There are mega yachts here for repairs and refitting. The marina appears to be a weak side line to the marine yard.
This was an interesting Tow that we passed in the Burnside River

Richard and Linda had driven over from Montgomery and met us shortly after our arrival. We washed the boat and got ready for dinner. Dinner was at Tubby's, a local restaurant that is about a 10 minute walk from the marina. It was very good.

I was very pleased with how the boat handled 4 adults. Heretofore, we had only entertained our grand daughter over night. We are having a great time. Monday we will be playing tourist in Savannah.
