Still in Mackinaw City today, enjoying the cool and Fallish weather. It is a beautiful cool day, but the wind is very brisk and is blowing us around a little in the harbor.

And we have another Winna' on the Fire Hydrant Antennae Contest. This time from the South, and specifically from our hometown. Our friend John L. correctly answered the question and offered that the hydrants must be cleared of the piled up snow in order to be usable, and the antennae marks the location of a hydrant for firefighters to see if they need it! Thanks John! Lake Erie for you also????

The Fed Ex package came to us bright and early this morning. Thank you very much, Richard!

"Sun Gypsy" came into the marina last night. We saw Rick and Leila this morning and Leila invited us to Birthday Docktails for Rick tonight. They have guests on board from San Diego. Nora and David have cruised through Canada with them.

This afternoon we mailed a group of Blogs to my Uncle in New Jersey from the Post Office here in Mackinaw City. We also went to the IGA supermarket and picked up some  things. I set up with the boatyard next door to do an oil change tomorrow, and we ordered charts for the Mississippi and Tennessee Rivers to be sent to us here at Mackinaw City.

Tonight we did Birthday Docktails with Rick and Leila and crew and Mark and Linda from Mopsie II, a Sea Ray Sedan Bridge from Bluffton, SC. We all went to dinner at an Italian Restaurant across the street. It was very good. At dinner, I sat next to David, and learned that we had worked for the same company. He worked in our San Diego office before he retired. We knew a lot of the same people. What a coincidence! Small world!

We are planning to be here in Mackinaw City until Thursday when we will go about 60 miles through the Straits of Mackinac to Lake Michigan, then South to Petoskey, MI. The forecast for Thursday is for seas of 1' and light winds in Lake Michigan. Tomorrow and Wednesday we have 3' seas forecast and winds up to 20. Pick your battles, and I ain't picking these next two days, that's for sure!

Thanks for Reading!
