Today we extended the marina Stay here in Kingston for another week. We also extended the rental car. We turned the boat around to move it further into the face dock along the ramp from the wall to the floating dock. This allowed the marina to dock an 80+' boat from Florida right behind us on the face dock. The big boat, "My Medicine" from Jupiter, FL came in right before 5:00 and pretty much had his way with the floating dock. He is huge!
"My Medicine" looms large behind us as we turned "Blue Moon" around |
This afternoon we took another Looper couple to the Laundrymat and did wash. Very exciting! We also picked up some groceries at Dollar General next to the Laundrymat.
Tonight we did supper with the Looper group at the Maritime Museum then went to an open air concert with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic Orchestra. The concert was held in a big grassed area up the street from the Creek. They had erected a stage and had a sound system. Two broadway stars did vocals during the concert. It was more Pops than pure classical. It was very similar to the Boston Pops 4th of July show, and there was lots of patriotic music played. The show was very well done, and we enjoyed it. My favorite was "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" featuring the Principle Violin Player doing a wickedly good fiddle rendition with vocals by the Broadway star!
Waiting for the Concert to start tonight |
More music is scheduled for tomorrow. The Canal is still closed after Lock 8. We have not heard any more updates today.
Thanks for Reading!
