Today was a lazy day. Not much going on. Susan washed the boat in the morning. She also washed the dock lines in Dawn to keep them pliable. We are out of the salt water now and we had deferred doing a boat wash until we got out of the salt. It is amazing how the salt cakes on the boat, especially the rails!
The diver spent most of the morning cleaning the bottom of the boat. Apparently the buildup on the bottom was not as bad as I feared, which is good. I hope we get a little extra fuel mileage from having a cleaner bottom.
We picked up the rental car from Enterprise this afternoon. They picked us up at then marina and took us to their place to get the car. It is very easy!
Tomorrow we will take the car go about 50 miles North to Hyde Park to visit the Franklin Roosevelt Estate and Gardens. It is right on the Hudson. My cousin John told me about an old historic aerodrome at Rhinebeck, NY which is near FDR's home. If we have time, we might check that out also.
Riding around Croton tonight, the countryside here continues to amaze me with its beauty. I know it is different in the Winter, but the old homes along the River and the neighborhoods are very pretty. This is what I was expecting when I knew we would be coming up the Hudson, and I have not been disappointed! I look forward to seeing more!
Friday we will head 60 miles North in the boat to Kingston, NY.
Thanks for Reading!
