Today Maggie got another lesson in urban living. It is fun to see her react to the different things that a city brings after spending her life in rural surroundings. People are everywhere on our walks down the sidewalks and the streets. She mostly just ignores them unless they stop to pat her. I am glad she isn't barking ferociously as she does on the boat.  She doesn't understand why she can't go in the stores that line the streets, especially the ones with open doors. The sidewalk restaurants are another real eye opener for her. Ever had a Golden Retriever beg at your table while eating on the sidewalk? It is embarrassing! And the smells of the city! For a retriever, it must be heaven. Everything on the sidewalk has smells. So, we are seeing the evolution of a dog in the city!

The office and bath house at the marina. Not the best!
A planter area that Maggie has FINALLY learned to use!

Another option for Maggie to use in the city!

Walking the dog in the big City!

Fells point is a neat area. We walked the streets today and looked at the shops and restaurants. There are more old piers bedsides Henderson's Wharf where we are docked. Most have been turned into condos, apartments, and mixed use facilities. One old pier is rotting and decaying and will surely be turned into a mixed use development in year's to come. Everywhere people are coming downtown. It is wonderful (except I don't know we're you park!).
Crabs are everywhere like Mermaids were in Norfolk!

Nice condos along the water

The old Broadway Wharf just waiting for redevelopment!

Nice light poles in front of the old Broadway Wharf could use a little corrosion control!

Inside of the old Broadway Wharf. I imagine the Wharf at our marina looked like this at one time.

We found a harbor walk from our marina to downtown. We did some of the walk today and will probably do more tomorrow. We are staying here again tomorrow and will head out on Tuesday. I have started watching the weather for our ride down Delaware Bay next Sunday and then our transit up the New Jersey Coast late next week.
This ship is docked at the Domino Sugar Refinery in downtown Baltimore. It is the "Clipper Tenacious" that we saw anchored off Annapolis last Wednesday.

Trash in the harbor

My fascination with Tug Boats continues!

This is a real working Tug that was tied up to a wharf on the Harbor Walk

Looking across the harbor at Domino Sugar. This is an old wharf that has been hardscaped with brick pavers for pedestrian access
