Tonight we are still at the marina in Columbus, MS.
There was quite a storm last night. The winds were very high, and even though we were under cover, the boat bounced around a good bit. The winds carried over to this morning. When we got up it was still blowing and it was very cold. It remained cold all day here.
The boats that were going on to Pickensville today decided to stay put due to weather. Some of us went to "Sun Gypsy" and Rick and Leila made a late breakfast complete with Bloody Mary's. It was warm in their boat and we enjoyed the company.
Susan went to town with the other ladies to visit the historic areas and see some of the antebellum homes. I stayed on the boat and did some more work on the controls. I managed to get a trouble code somewhat identified and the problem might have been that "the processor lost contact with the upper station control handle". It didn't say what could have caused this, of course. I checked the connections on each of the control heads, and found the connections to be tight. I could not find the processor on the boat, so I could not check this. Hmmmmm! Anyway, the controls worked again today after troubleshooting. It will be a wait and see on the next cruise day.

Susan did laundry this evening after getting back from town. We ate on the boat tonight. It is very cold outside, but we are toasty with our two reverse A/C units running. The weather turning like it has, coupled with the shorter days has made this trip very different from what it was just a month ago. Boating now with layers of heavy outerwear, and having to pack it in by 3:00 PM, and fighting the low sun angles is not pleasant. We are blazing new ground here on a winter boating season, and we don't like it. This is not much fun.
We are talking seriously about calling time out if we ever make it to Mobile. The last several days with the tows and the Lock spacing has been a real drag. We are still a good six or seven days from Mobile. Bogged down on the dad gummed Tenn-Tom Waterway. We may leave the boat in Mobile, get our repair and maintenance work done over a more manageable period, do Thanksgiving and Christmas, then see about getting across the Gulf after the Holidays. We will make this decision on how to proceed by the end of next week.
Tomorrow, I guess we will will go to Pirates Cove Marina in Pickensville, AL.
Thanks for Reading!
