Tonight we are still at the Pirate's Marina Cove near Pickensville and Aliceville, AL.
We are staying with "Sun Gypsy" here at Pirate's. Sun Gypsy has a leaking transmission seal, and we want to travel together down the waterway. We feel like with the very remote and rural nature of this part of the Loop, that it makes sense to maintain the "buddy boat" concept.
The repairs to Sun Gypsy were supposed to be done today. The mechanic did not get here from Columbus until mid afternoon, and when he unbolted everything and tried to install the seal, it was the wrong one. He located the correct one in Birmingham and it will be delivered to Columbus first thing tomorrow morning and he will come down and put it on.
We drove into Aliceville today and picked up a script for Leila on Sun Gypsy who is still under the weather. We also picked up some groceries at Piggly Wiggly. After getting back to the Marina, we got a pump out.
Chris and Lynn on "Let's Drift" from Toronto arrived late this afternoon. It was good to see them again since we left them in Chattanooga several weeks ago.
The weather tomorrow is going to be frigid. Lows for the next several days are in the 20's with wind chills in the teens. Great cruising weather! We will probably stay here again tomorrow night if the wind is high so that we don't have to anchor in windy conditions.
Our revised itinerary for this week should get us to Demopolis, AL on Thursday, Bobby's Fish Camp on Saturday, and Dog River in Mobile on Monday.
Thanks for Reading!
