We stayed at IVY at Peoria, IL again today. Our running buddies, "Entree' " and "Always Five O'Clock" also stayed. "Summer Recess" headed out at 7 this morning to go South.

This was another good break. The bartender here at IVY offered us the loan of his car to go to Bass Pro Shop. We have been studying the logistics of doing the long stretches on the Mississippi without having marinas to stop at. Fuel looks like it will be OK. We can make 300-400 miles if we had to without refueling. Potable water is another story. We can really only go 2 days or maybe 3 on a full tank of water. So, I have been planning on getting some more water carrying capability.

Today we went to Bass Pro and picked up some 7 and 5 gallon water containers. I got enough containers to carry 60 gallons of water. I have 10 gallon jugs in the engine room that I will also fill up, giving me about 70 gallons of water capability. This will double the amount of water that I can carry and should give me about 4 or 5 days of water, which should be fine.

When we got back, we returned the bartender's keys to him behind the bar. I ran into a couple of Illinois fans who I had met yesterday. They had been to the Illinois - Cincinnati football game yesterday, and I told them their team colors were the same as Auburn's. I left them with a "War Eagle".

Today when I saw them, I yelled "War Eagle". Another couple at the bar turned and asked me if I was an Auburn fan, and I replied that I was and had graduated from Auburn. The man told me he had been a professor in the Building Construction Department at Auburn. I graduated in Building Construction. This professor, Steve Schuette, had come to Auburn the year after I graduated. I knew of him and knew people who knew him. It is a small world! We had a great conversation, and his wife Ann, was very nice. They have a home near Ft. Myers, and we will look them up when we get there at the end of the year. Thank you, Professor Schuette, for a great afternoon!
Tonight we joined our other two boating partners and folks from two new boats for dinner at the "No Wake Zone". We had met the other two boat folks at the two parties we went to in Chicago. Great to see them again!

Tomorrow we will leave early and head South about 45-50 miles to Tall Timbers Marina near Havana, IL. We have to go through 1 lock. We think that the water depth in the marina is about 4', which is skinny, but we should be OK. This will put us 122 miles from the Mighty Mississippi.

Thanks for Reading!
