Tonight we remain at Baytowne Marina at the Sandestin Resort near Destin, FL.

Mother Nature is either Fickle or the weather folks took a day off yesterday. My first train of thought in the mornings now is to analyze the weather for the Gulf Crossing coming up. Last night our Monday- Tuesday Window looked good. This morning, an entirely different picture. Bang! That window was slammed shut early this morning. Now instead of 1.5 foot waves, we are dealing with 6 footers! That dog won't hunt. Back to the drawing board.

The carrot is still being dangled by the weather Lords, now for Thursday and Friday of next week. If we can believe that!

And it is bitter cold this morning. And I am getting closer and closer each day to hatching a full fledged cold that is building in my chest, throat, and head.

A quick Captain's meeting this morning on the dock results in our flotilla staying another night here at Baytowne. I am staying inside and resting. Too cold to do anything outside. We are bundled in sweatshirts and heavy coats. This kind of boating is for the birds, not for me. Get us to warm weather and sunshine, please.

We have reservations at a marina in Apalachicola for Friday and Saturday nights. Here we are on Thursday with two days to get to Apalachicola. This is doable. There is an oyster festival over there this weekend that we want to do. Staying here at Sandestin today is the sane thing to do. No need to hurry to Carrabelle to hurry up and wait.

Tomorrow we will go to Panama City.

Thanks for Reading! (Cough, hack, wheeze, thew)
